Where can LifeArt coffins be bought from?
You can get a LifeArt coffin from our LifeArt network of funeral directors. We have a list of funeral homes who are currently stocking our products on our website under Funeral Homes. If there is no funeral home in your area, or if you have a preferred funeral home that you wish to use, contact us via the Make An Enquiry form in the Funeral Home section of this website.

How much do LifeArt coffins cost?
Your funeral director will be able to provide you with information about costs. The value coffins rest within the range of modest coffin prices, with personalised coffins resting generally in the mid-range of pricing for coffins.

If it is cardboard why isn’t it cheaper?
To ensure that we passed industry standards a patented design with specialised construction of cardboard is used to make LifeArt coffins. Whilst this makes LifeArt coffins cheaper in terms of the cost to the environment, the manufacturing costs mean that LifeArt coffins are priced somewhere in the range of the traditional value coffins.

Can we use LifeArt coffins with Pre-paid or Pre-Arranged Funerals?
Absolutely. Please contact either LifeArt or your funeral arranger for further information. 

Why can’t I buy a coffin directly from LifeArt?
LifeArt Australia sells directly to Funeral Homes. We have found that during this time families are looking for the support and guidance of a Funeral Arranger.

What makes Enviroboard environmentally friendly?
Enviroboard uses some of the 1.6 million tonnes of cardboard and paper that is recycled each year to make its coffins. LifeArt's Enviroboard coffin taps into a renewable resource, reducing waste in our landfills and the unnecessary destruction of our forests and trees. Is cardboard strong enough?
LifeArt coffins are made of Enviroboard. Enviroboard is the latest technology in coffin materials. A patented sandwich construction make LifeArt coffins light and strong. Our coffins have been tested by an independent authority and are the first cardboard coffins to pass the standards of the Australian funeral industry. This means that LifeArt coffins are strong and reliable and can be used in all the ways a traditional coffin is used.

Can it handle all weather conditions?
Yes. In the event of rain, the Natural LifeArt coffin may show water droplets for a minimal time - these droplet marks will disappear. Other LifeArt coffins will show nil to little effect. A quick wipe with a soft cloth will suffice.

Are all cardboard coffins the same?
No. LifeArt coffins are the first coffins to meet all the standards and regulations of the Australian funeral industry. With a LifeArt coffin, you are assured of quality and acceptance by the funeral industry.

Can LifeArt coffins be used in either burials or cremations?
Yes, LifeArt coffins have passed all the industry standards for burial and cremation.

Are cardboard coffins legal in Australia?
LifeArt coffins are the first cardboard coffins to meet the regulatory requirements of the Australian funeral industry. This means that LifeArt Coffins are legal and accepted in Australia.

Decorate and Design

Can you place flowers on the coffin, even if it has a design?
Of course, you can do whatever feels right.

Can you decorate it and if so what with?

LifeArt have created the Natural/DIY coffin so that family and friends can decorate the coffin with a variety of art media such as charcoal, crayons, pastels, pencils, oil or acrylic paints.
The Natural coffin is also suitable for decoration with felt pens, crayons and acrylic paints. Use paints recommended by LifeArt.

The Natural LifeArt coffin can also be decorated by covering the coffin with a flag, pall, quilt or similar items.


Do you have designs suitable for my parents or grandparents age?
Our designs are not age specific, they are for the individuals. Our designs are suitable for younger and older people. Look at the designs and find which speaks to you about their personality, we have a variety of designs and themes both subtle and bright. This is about the person not their age.

Will you have more designs?
LifeArt are continually creating new designs. Keep watch for more designs or suggest your own. To contribute to our designs go to the MY LIFEART section of this website.

Can you get help with personalisation ideas?
We have ideas to help you with personalisation on the website. The best message is what is in your heart. Use something that reminds you of the person. Something they used to say, the words to a song or poem, a blessing or prayer, or words that say what they mean to you---‘Always Loved’ ‘Missing You’ ‘Our Rock.’ It doesn’t have to be fancy; it just has to have meaning.

Can I create my very own design? E.g. with my photos?
Our design team will be happy to customise a design for you. They will advise you on the quality of photo required and the cost of this customisation. Please keep in mind that a customised design will take longer to create. For further information have your funeral arranger contact the LifeArt team.
