Sitting at the hospital with her young husband as he was losing his battle with cancer, must have been very hard. Using this time to reflect gave the family the opportunity to say goodbye to a man who was a husband, a dad, a friend, a workmate and a Holden racing fan.
Encouraged by their good friend, we spoke to the family about their “desire to step outside of the every day memorial” people have. They wanted something he would love to be remembered by. Being a Holden Racing Team fan gave them the idea to have a LifeArt coffin in racing colours!
After speaking with the LifeArt team, this was taken one step further and, with permission from Holden, his coffin was made in Holden Racing Team colours along with all the Holden Racing Team logos. This was sure to be a long lasting memory for his family and friends.

We were able to go one step further by approaching Eastern Creek Raceway. After a few phone calls we had approval to hold the funeral service on the race track. We arranged for a minister who was associated with Peter Brock Racing and booked a function room at the raceway for the wake.
Even though the skies opened up on the day of the service, like true fans, 350 people stood in the rain and cheered their friend funeral car did final laps around the race track. Everyone cheered as he passed the winning line.
The checkered flag waved by his son, giving him a respectful, loving and personal goodbye. |

We received phone calls after the service from people who attended all saying it was a very fitting tribute to a very good man.
