LifeArt coffins have set new standards..
Environmental tests confirm LifeArt is the standard in environmental coffins
If all Australian families chose LifeArt (Enviroboard) coffins, our Australian crematoriums would meet their contribution towards global emission reduction targets. Our specially engineered cardboard and unique patented coffin construction combine to make LifeArt an internationally leading brand of environmental coffins.
LifeArt coffins are manufactured using fibres recovered from recycled cardboard boxes and sugar cane waste. These are compressed between two printable liners to make an ultra-strong, ultra-light board. The fibre core consists of 65% post-consumer kraft paper waste and 35% sugar cane waste bonded with cornstarch glue. The outer liner is made of 92% post-consumer kraft paper waste and 8% virgin fibre from Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) certified sources.
There is about 300g of cornstarch glue in the board used to make a LifeArt coffin. 2. Producing MDF for a coffin releases more than twice the greenhouse gases than producing recycled cardboard for a coffin.
Making the board used in an MDF coffin releases the equivalent of about 33 kg of CO2 into the atmosphere. 3. MDF coffins release more than twice the emissions of LifeArt coffins when cremated.
Independent cremation tests conducted by Stephenson Environmental Management found that MDF coffins had pollutant levels 213% higher than LifeArt coffins made of recycled cardboard.
The Benchmark in Environmental Coffins “The test program consisted of a wide variety of tests to ensure the coffin was safe and reliable in all circumstances of a funeral service. The test program was identical to that used to evaluate timber coffins. LifeArt coffins passed the full testing regime.”

LifeArt coffins have set new standards in the use of recycled materials and in emissions for coffins, whilst helping the funeral industry reduce its impact on the environment.
